Journey Together is a youth work charity which delivers early intervention small group work in East Oxford and connects and supports practitioners working with children, young people and families throughout Oxfordshire.
Youth & Schools Work
We support young people in Oxford through small group work, creating safe spaces where young people can be known and accepted as themselves, discover the purpose for their lives, and grow as agents of change. Our main objective is to provide early intervention support to increase wellbeing and positive mental health outcomes and to support engagement with education. Our aims include:
•Providing a safe space for young people to develop positive relationships with their peers and safe adults.
•Building resilience in the form of developing self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-acceptance.
•Building social and communication skills including conflict resolution, respect, and empathy.
•Encouraging positive life choices and safe, protective behaviours.
connecting Practitioners
Working with children, young people and families can often be siloed for those in the charitable and faith sectors. The main objective of our work here is to build connections between practitioners so that, collaboratively, we can offer the best support for vulnerable children, young people and families. Our aims include:
•Providing a safe space for practitioners to develop positive relationships with others in complementary fields.
•Building networks of practitioners to catalyse communication and build awareness around available resources, needs and opportunities.
•Facilitating partnership projects, to amplify positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
•Encouraging and supporting practitioners as both a protection against burnout and an investment in the flourishing of their work.
